USB and SD Card Flash Memory Express Test for MAC computer

USB Port Test : Check USB flash device in System Information

The test is about verifying if your USB Flash Drive / Memory card is detected on Mac USB port.

Connect your USB to your computer.
To open System in MAC you need to click on Apple-icon in the left upper corner of your screen. Then from Apple menu select » About This Mac » click Overview » click the System Report button to open System Information.

If the flash drive is not listed under USB hub, then most likely the USB drive is not functional.

If you found the device in the system, check the information about the storage CAPCITY (size in GB). If the capacity is correct, the problem may be with partial drive corruption.

For data safety, do not aggravate the problem trying to repair device with MAC Disk utility or other software tools. Those applications may and will wipe the data contained on the drive.

 

SD Slot Test : Check SD card in System Information

The test is about verifying if your SD Memory card is detected on Mac SD slot.

If the flash drive is not listed under Card Reader hub, then most likely the SD card is not functional.

If you found the device in the system, check all information about your SD. Check if there are correct product name, serial number, capacity. If all information appears to be correct, then the problem may be with partial drive corruption.
